To bring you up to speed: The Grid is a web development platform that uses Artificial Intelligence to design your website for you based on your goals & content. You just upload images, videos, text, and any other content you want on your site and the AI builds your site for you.
It’s just that simple.
In fact, The Grid’s own website which was built using its AI software, says over and over that, “The Grid just takes care of it” and “It just works.” It tells us to “Just throw your stuff in” and it always works- “Just like that, just as it should be!” The site repeatedly tells us how little it wants from us, the users, and tells us how much better it will make our sites without our help.
I have a problem with this. Being told over and over again by a website that I’m not good enough, that I don’t have what it takes to build a fantastic website, that what I’m capable of is nothing compared to what its AI can do… I’m not an expert by any means, but it doesn’t take one to know that this is not a strong marketing strategy.
“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” -Ted Rubin.
The Grid does many things that I viciously and unapologetically fight against: It puts people down, insults intelligence, belittles people’s self-worth, makes people feel undervalued… I could go on and on and on.
If an interaction with anyone or anything diminishes your worth, do NOT let it in. You turn and you RUN far, far away. Those people and those things have no place in your life and you have no reason to allow them into your heart. I’m not saying that it’s easy, I’m not saying that it’ll solve all of your problems, but I am saying that it’s unbelievably important in the process of understanding your true value. Whether it’s a person or a website or anything in between, do not let it speak that to you, whether that means walking away from a conversation or closing a tab.
Coming back to the original topic of this, I do think The Grid looks awesome. It’s a remarkable and innovate idea and I can’t take away from the genius behind it. As a matter of fact, forget I even referred to it. What’s The Grid in your life? Who or what is speaking those things over you? Where are the voices coming from that are telling you you’re not enough? Whatever the source, do not tune in.
You are bigger. You are better. You are stronger. Your value is not contingent on what anyone or anything else says.
You are so loved and so worthy of so much more.
